The impact generated by the CardioNet project
- Technical impact of the project's results:
The telecardiology infrastructure that will be realized in the project will be aligned to the national and international trends and norms in the field of cardiac pathology. The project will ensure the specialization and personal development of the young researchers, PhD students, master students and physicians in an interdisciplinary research field of the highest interest regarding integrated medical computer systems, realized in modern architectures: SOA, OO, SOAP and Web Services.
- The economic impact of the project's results:
The proposed system will significantly reduce the costs related to the acquisition, storage and administration of medical information by automating the whole process. The continuous remote monitoring of the patients will reduce the time spent in hospitals and the time spent by the patient in polyclinics and medical offices. The proposed computerized system will replace the classic systems for storing medical data, which currently occupy a lot of space, need a significant time to access data and do not allow recording complex multimedia data.
- The social impact of the project's results:
The system will lead to an improvement of the quality of the medical act by the continuous monitoring of the patients, by reducing the time that is necessary to gather and access medical information, by a more accurate evidence of the diseased and of the cardiac casuistry. As a matter of consequence, from the informatics point of view, the Romanian health system will become aligned to the info-medical practices from Europe and other advanced countries. By means of the exact evidence of the treatments and their results the physicians’ and other medical organisms responsibility will increase. Therefore, malpraxis cases can be identified, as well as some pathological trends that are given by regional or environmental factors.
