CardioNet project results

The project’s results will be disseminated in the academic environment by means of scientific papers and by participations to national and international conferences in the medical and applied informatics fields. The experience accumulated by the team members will constitute the basis for the elaboration of some course chapters and specialty books; let’s just mention that most of the researchers involved in this project are teaching in top Romanian universities. By means of the young researchers (master students, PhD students, residents) participation to the project’s realization we will indirectly ensure the dissemination among them of the newest realizations and technologies in the field of computerization of the medical sector.

In the final phases of the project, workshops will be organized in order to present the facilities and services offered by the realized system. At these manifestations we will invite medical professionals with diverse responsibilities in the health system: family physicians, cardiology specialists, administrators of the health system.

We plan to realize a portal specialized on the cardiac pathology that will be accessible by means of specialized and customizable interfaces both to medical specialists and to the large public. This portal will permit access to the synthetic information acquired and stored in the realized system.

The system realized as a result of this project will be used in the primary medical network and in the cardiologic services. The synthetic data generated by the system will be accessible to the public health institutions, to the Ministry of health, CNAS, to the Ministry of the work and social protection. The major beneficiary of this system will be the patient with heart problems who will get access to computerized medical services, will benefit from a continuous monitoring, with the possibility of a salutary, life-saving medical intervention. The information stored in the system’s database will offer physicians the necessary support for an efficient and optimal diagnosis and treatment solution. The physician will be able to access data regarding the evolution in time of the patients and will be able to analyze the efficiency of applying certain treatments. The system implemented at a regional level will also be promoted at national level and its extension is expected in other pathologies too. The system will reduce the financial and time effort necessary for the management of medical information; it will also reduce the time spent by patients in medical institutions by offering the possibility of gathering data about the patients and remote monitoring them.
